Honestly I’m just petty enough to give bride and MIL exactly what they want, your allergic son at the wedding. But he’d come in some air filtering mask, latex gloves, etc so he’s safer, and I’d bring my own food for him, no caterer or venue is going to deny the food for a food allergy, it’d open them up to liability if your son should get something that could make him sick. In all honesty, the caterer would prefer you brought your own food, that way if something goes wrong with your son, they can say ” it wasnt our food , they brought their own for him” Of course people will notice your child’s “attire” and people being people would ask, then you could state how your son has such severe allergies his health was at risk with the menu items the bride picked and since they wouldn’t compromise on the menu choices, this was the only way your son could safely come to the wedding. And no he(your son) isnt all that comfortable in his safety equipment, but you were told he had to be at the wedding or he’d ruin the brides day.
